While the vaccine has been accessible since May 19 at municipal health centers, this new effort is designed to reach a broader audience, allowing commuters to take advantage of this service during their daily routines. Key locations for vaccination include major CPTM stations such as Luz, Engenheiro Goulart, São Miguel, Itaim Paulista, Corinthians-Itaquera, Perus, and Pirituba. These stations will provide the vaccine from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Additionally, vaccinations will be available at bus terminals, including Cidade Tiradentes and Cachoeirinha, as well as at the Tietê Bus Terminal, operating slightly varied hours.
In tandem with these public transport initiatives, vaccinations will continue to be administered at Basic Health Units (UBSs). These facilities will operate from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 7 PM, with weekend services being available at integrated UBS/Assistance Medical Units (AMAs) within the same hours.
The city’s health officials have emphasized the importance of vaccination, especially among priority groups, which include individuals over 60, children from six months to under six years, and pregnant women. As of last Monday, the city had already administered nearly 1.93 million doses of the flu vaccine, achieving a coverage rate of 37.45% within the target groups defined by the vaccination campaign.
Residents looking for nearby vaccination sites in São Paulo can effectively locate their closest facility using the “Busca Saúde” platform, ensuring that more citizens can access the crucial flu shot conveniently. This comprehensive outreach is part of the city’s broader public health strategy to reduce the impact of influenza as the season approaches.
