The much-anticipated 6th Student Meeting of the Alagoas State Education Network is finally here, set to commence on Wednesday and continue through Friday at the Lauthenay Perdigão Gymnasium, located in Trapiche, Maceió. This cost-free event, open to the school community, is expected to bring together over a thousand students who will present their works in science, art, and culture in the course of the three-day forum.
The opening ceremony, scheduled to commence at 9 am, will spotlight a performance by student Guilherme Alves, hailing from Francisca Rosa State School. This year’s theme, “School, a Space for Creative Learning: Engagement for Innovative Teaching in Alagoas State Education Network,” has managed to attract 729 projects and numerous other attractions, echoing the spirit of youth leadership across the 13 Special Education Management offices.
With 14 distinct categories, the event encompasses music, dance, theatre festivals, and much more. The forum will also proffer three unique awards to honor outstanding contributions. The Edvaldo Albuquerque Award for actions that inspire youth leadership; the Personalities Award recognizing significant figures in Afro-Indigenous Alagoan culture and history; and the Teacher Angélika Award spotlighting projects fighting against gendered violence.
Dileusa Costa, in charge of the Management of the School Network, puts it across that the meet is not just for regular or full-time high school students but also extends to technical students and adult learners. This multidisciplinary event encourages technology and innovation with an entrepreneurship focus.
The forum will be hosting the Student Soiree of the Alagoas State Network where 26 students will be performing, with a further 78 showcasing plastic arts lining the gymnasium corridors. The Innovation and Creativity Festival (FIC) and the Science Fair of the State of Alagoas (Feceal) are key highlights of the program, offering the State Showcase of Science, Technology and Innovation (MECTI), a Robotics Showcase and the School Enterprising Culture Arena (ACEE). On the subsequent day, the film and media productions showstopper event will be followed by the State Student Council Meeting (Egreal) where 268 students will discuss various school-linked initiatives.
The final day will be dedicated to the successful practices of the Mentor Teacher Program, My Life Project, aiming at improving learning outcomes through initiation to research.
